Greetings, friends of the League of S.T.E.A.M.! It is our pleasure to share with you a new project we’re tremendously excited about – the music video for Panic! at the Disco’s new single “The Ballad of Mona Lisa!” Produced by Brandon Bonfiglio and directed by Shane Drake, the video features a spectacular Steampunk style, much of which was influenced and created by your very own League of S.T.E.A.M! When the Grammy-nominated band Panic! at the Disco wanted to feature Steampunk as a main element in the music video premiere of their highly-anticipated single, they quickly contacted the League of S.T.E.A.M. for input on realizing their Steampunk vision.  From props and wardrobe to background actors and set dressing, the League was able to help with numerous aspects of production.

Not only does the League of S.T.E.A.M.’s full ensemble cast appear in key roles in the video, but we also brought along additional friends and colleagues to further populate the scene and create a richer atmosphere with a unified aesthetic.  Look closely, and you might see someone you know!

To assist the production designers, many of us also lent our own wardrobe and props to help complete the visual look needed to fully realize the Steampunk theme.  Several League members helped create wardrobe for the other actors on set to wear.  It’s a good thing many of us have our own formidable collections of Victorian-inspired costumes!

The video’s set decoration features many of the League of S.T.E.A.M.’s most iconic and recognizable props, including an exciting shot of our fully functional Net Cannon capturing the fleeing antagonist in a dramatic display of Steampunkery!  Be sure to comment on the video and let us know what other equipment you recognize from our web series or live shows!

We are so honored to have had the opportunity to work with such welcoming and creative artists, and we hope you enjoy seeing the result!
