The Milk Punch is a venerable New Orleans favorite, having its origins as early as 1862.  Like the Corpse Reviver #2 it is often popular as a morning after palliative, however it is quite enjoyable in the evening as well.

  • 1 oz brandy
  • 1/2 oz dark rum (distinct from silver or spiced rum)
  • 2 teaspoons simple syrup
  • 2 dashes vanilla extract
  • 4 oz whole milk

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice. Strain into a tumbler, or a large rocks glass that is half full of shaved or crushed ice.  Grate some nutmeg on top to garnish.  Imbibe!
